I am managing iOS 17 and later devices (iPhone/iPad) with Intune. These devices are required to set a passcode of 6 digits or more, which exceeds the minimum passcode length of 4 digits set in the device compliance policy.
Is there a way to set a 4-digit passcode?

@takuya_matsumoto, Thanks for posting in Q&A. Based on my researching, Apple revealed that all newer devices running the newer version of the operating system will be required to upgrade from a four-digit to a six-digit passcode. Passcodes remain optional, and users can create a more complex alphanumeric password, but six digits will be the minimum.
Note: Non-Microsoft link, just for the reference.
So we now can only set at least 6 digit passcode.

Upon checking with the actual device, it seems that setting a 4-digit PIN is possible even for the latest iOS 17. However, is my understanding correct that if an Intune management profile is applied, a PIN of 6 digits or more is enforced?

From a user convenience point of view, it does not seem to be a good specification that the minimum number of digits is fixed to 6 or more, ignoring the setting of the minimum number of digits that exists in the compliance policy, etc. We would be grateful if you would consider improving this specification.

@takuya_matsumoto, Thanks for the reply. Agree with you. In the following comment, it says if we configure any password setting in Intune profile, a 6 digital PIN is enforced. I think this can be the reason.
