Set storage static website 'Front Door and CDN'
I distributed the static website by setting the 'static website' option using azure storage. And a new endpoint was created through 'Front Door and CDN' to use my custom domain purchased from outside. And I set the endpoint ending in z01.azurefd.net to CNAME 'www' for the domain purchase. And I registered my own ssl certificate in 'keyvault' and added a domain to the newly created endpoint to complete the registration. Looking at the domain status added by azure portal, the warning that 'DNS status' is 'CNAME/nickel record is not currently searched' does not disappear. What am I missing??

2024-01-18T00:08:28.6166667+00:00 Hi @T Rena , please make sure that you put CNAME entry properly in your DNS server. Some DNS provider require the whole FQDN with dot at the end, some others require the prefix (without the domain) with dot at the end.
Refer to answer in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/75745712/azure-frontdoor-cdn-classic-add-custom-domain
Check that your CNAME entry is propagated:
- Open this in your browser: www.whatsmydns.net
- Enter your custom domain URL in the Domain Name field
- Select CNAME from the drop-down menu
- Click on Search.

2024-01-18T03:36:08.5833333+00:00 Do I need to create a 'DNS zone' from 'azure'??
I got "{name}-{code}.z01.azuredf.net " as the endpoint host name I created, and I already set it up with "{name}-{code}.z01.azuredf.net ." as the dns setting in my domain purchaser (gabia). I even tried setting up CNAME as "{code}.z01.azuredf.net ." just in case.
And it was confirmed as 'nslookup' that it was reflected.
The DNS status is still "CNAME/nickname record not currently retrieved",
I didn't set up 'Azure CDN' separately, should I add 'Azure CDN' to a custom domain managed by an external DNS provider?? -

2024-01-18T06:51:27.5833333+00:00 First of all, if you access my custom domain address, you get a return of "<h2>Our services aren't available right now</h2><p>We're working to restore all services as soon as possible. Please check back soon.</p>"
I'm sharing a screenshot of my Azure's Front Door Manager and Domains.
Additionally, we also show you the dns settings. -

2024-01-18T13:58:30.2433333+00:00 Hello @T Rena ,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & hope you are doing well.
I understand that you added a custom domain to your Azure Front Door endpoint, and it was validated & approved but there is a warning under DNS state which says "CNAME record is currently not detected".
You can check a couple of things as below:
The DNS state column is used for CNAME mapping check. If you are using an apex domain, then it doesn’t support a CNAME record, and hence the DNS state will show 'CNAME record is currently not detected' even after you add the alias record to the DNS provider.
If your domain CNAME is indirectly pointed to a Front Door endpoint, for example, using Azure Traffic Manager for multi-CDN failover, the DNS state column shows as CNAME/Alias record currently not detected. Azure Front Door can't guarantee 100% detection of the CNAME record in this case. If you've configured an Azure Front Door endpoint to Azure Traffic Manager and still see this message, it doesn’t mean you didn't set up correctly, therefore further no action is necessary from your side.
Could you please confirm if you are either using a root/apex domain or indirectly pointing your CNAME to Azure Front Door?
Regards,
Gita

2024-01-19T01:04:20.2733333+00:00 Additionally, we share the root environment.
The two selected for 'Domains' in 'update route' are my custom domain and two endpoints ending in 'z01.azurefd.net '.
The problem still hasn't improved when you choose only one of the two.

2024-01-19T02:24:30.94+00:00 Hi @T Rena, let's break it down into 2 parts:
- Front Door origin setup. Can you load your site (using Front Door's default endpoint, i.e. xxxx.z01.azurefd.net) from a browser? If you can't load it, you need to troubleshoot the origin setup at Front Door until you can.
- Custom domain. Do you use root/apex domain? For example: yourdomain.com (this is root/apex domain) instead of www.yourdomain.com (this is not root/apex domain).

2024-01-19T09:49:31.5966667+00:00 You can access my website with 'xxxx.z01.azurefd.net '.
I also want access to the sub-domain.
ex) 'yourdomain.com ' is my domain.
I want to access 'www.yourdomain.com ' as a sub-domain.Regarding this, I am using the host name: 'www' as CNAME in the purchase dns, 'xxxx.z01.azurefd.net ' as the value.
As a result, the dns connection continues to be bad in azure.
Several communities have seen examples of smooth connections with just CNAME settings.
Is there no need for additional dns settings?? -
