Hi, We have encountered the following error "The maximum number of data disks allowed to be attached to a VM of this size is 16”. This is for the type of Azure VM Standard_E8s_v5. My question: is there way one can increase the size limit or Uplift of VM is required or perform a redistribution of disks if allowed by design? Thanks, Best Regards, Srinivas

    Hi @Srinivas Yanamandra ,

you can't increase the number of supported disks of a VM size, for instance a Standard_E8s_v5.

But you can choose a different VM size to increase the number of supported disks, for instance to Standard_E16s_v5, which supports 32 disks.

More information you will find here: Esv5-series

You can resize the VM as often you like. Just be aware resizing the VM requires a restart.
