My second device arrived in the mail today and I went to setup syncing to find that there were no sync ports on the back of the device! The device ships with a weird L wrench and a flyer insert showing a technical drawing that the inner ports are hidden beneath an outer case. I removed the two rear screws and also the tripod screw and the outer case does not easily remove. I really don't want to get rough with a brand new $400 toy. How much force should I expect in taking this case off and/or am I missing something?

I took my first device out of my robot and tried taking the case off. Just slid right off after I removed the two rear screws. With the new found confidence of first hand experience of how the outer case works I gave the second device a try. I unscrewed the two rear screws about a mm and then placed the device screws down on the desk. It was definitely stuck on there much more securely than the first device and it took at least 50 pounds of force to get it to break free. After that I removed the rear screws completely it slid off easily. Looking at the inside of the outer case I bet the issue was related to the microphone meshing sticker. btw. The device looks so much cooler without the outer case.
