Hi, I just recently did a software update on my Mac to Sonoma version 14.3. I have an excel file that uses macros, when that file is on my desktop it doesn't work properly, I get a Description: Your changes could not be saves because of a sharing violation. I tried saving it under a different name, it doesn't work. I put that same on a usb and opened it from the usb and everything works perfectly. I uninstalled Microsoft 365 and reinstalled it, the issues still remains. Everything was working perfectly until the new software update was installed. I contacted apple and they are saying it Microsoft and Microsoft is saying its apple.

    Hi,

Did this problem appear in all Excel Workbooks or specific Workbook?

I suggest you check if you have enabled all macros in Excel:

    1. Click the Excel menu as appropriate.
    2. Click Preferences
    3. Click Security & Privacy
      • To allow all macros to run select the Enable all macros radio button.

Try this method and check if you can save Workbooks without problem.
