The User Assigned Identity not appearing when creating an HDI cluster

How can I select my User Assigned Identity when creating an HDI cluster with storage lake gen2 storage? Despite creating the appropriate identity and attaching it to the storage lake with the 'Storage Blob Data Owner' permission, nothing shows up in the drop-down for managed identity. I have a Student Subscription.

If you're not seeing the managed identity in the drop-down list, make sure that you have granted the appropriate permissions to the managed identity. You may also want to try refreshing the page or logging out and logging back in to the Azure portal to see if that resolves the issue.

In case, if you are still unable to see the user-assigned managed identity please do share more details on the permission you had on the subscription and then managed identity?

In a Student Subscription, the option to select User Assigned Identity might not be available when creating an HDI cluster with Azure Storage Gen2. This could be due to limitations in the subscription or permissions. Double-check your subscription limitations and ensure proper permissions for the identity. If issues persist, contact Azure support for further assistance.
