Office2019 - Registry setting does not reflect the changes without restart

I am trying to set locale of office2019 by changing the following registry setting -

"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\LanguageResources",
"PreferredEditingLanguage"

However, the change only gets reflected once I stop and start the office application. For.eg - If I have excel opened - no file but just excel.exe running and I change the registry setting and then open any .xlsx file. I don't see if registry setting is in effect. But if I close the file + excel.exe and open the file again then the setting works fine.

Also, when I do the changes for setting preferred editing language from File->Option->Language Menu then I see the change gets reflected immediately.

Can someone help me here - how can I reflect the office2019 registry changes immediately. I do not want to reflect the changes on any already opened file but on the one which I am opening after doing the registry changes.

    @Manoj Bhatt ,

    I am afraid your requirement could not be met, the changes to the preferred editing language would take effect after the Office clients instance access the registry at startup.

    Even when you set the preferred editing language in Office app, you would get the prompt as following image.

    As a workaround, I suggest you open the files in a new Office instance.

    • Such as a workbook, please double click (left mouse button) to open the file. This triggers an opening event.
    • Right away, please press and hold Alt key until the new instance pop-up appears.
    • After confirming yes you the Excel file would be opened in a new instance.

    Any issues please let me know.
