I recently inherited SCOM 2019 administration duties as part of a new job. We are beginning upgrades to Server 2022 and Microsoft 365, so I need to find out which management packs are installed, which need updating and what new ones I will need. How do I find out what packs are currently installed?

    Hi,

Welcome to the world of SCOM 2019 administration, Donald! Managing System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) can be both rewarding and challenging. Let’s dive into how you can find information about installed management packs, updates, and new ones:

    -View Installed Management Packs:

To check which management packs are currently installed in your SCOM environment, follow these steps:

Open the SCOM console on one of your management servers.

    Navigate to the Administration workspace.

Under Management Packs, select Management Packs.

You’ll see a list of all installed management packs. You can sort them by name, version, or other criteria.

Review the list to identify the packs you have deployed.

    -Import New Management Packs:

As you upgrade to Server 2022 and Microsoft 365, consider new management packs that align with your environment.

Microsoft provides various management packs for different technologies. You can download them from the official Microsoft download center3.
