Good day,
I am new to Hyper-V (normally VMWare tech) but this takes the cake no matter what you are working on.
I have two Dell servers each hosting Hyper-V manager (we will call these SR1 and SR2 for this conversation).
There are 3 VMs on each SR. SR1 hosts VM1, VM2, and VM3 while SR2 hosts VM4, VM5, and VM6.
SR1 and SR2 are connected through a layer3 Switch which connects to networked computers and ISP.
SR1 can ping all VMs (1-6) and all VMs can ping SR1. However, SR1 and all the VMs (1-6) cannot ping SR2.
SR2 is the only server that receives the 'Request Timed Out' response when trying to ping it.
This is preventing VM6 from being accessed from workstations on the network.
Trouble shooting steps taken:
-Rebooted the entire network (twice)
-compared SR1 and SR2 network settings, services, Hyper-V settings, and Hyper-V vSwitch settings on both. Everything lines up.
-restarted Hyper-V services, network adapters.
This just doesn't make sense, how can I ping VM1 to VM6 no problem but not SR2?
Thank you for any guidance that can be provided.
