UN/PW for shared folder (CIFS) not accept on one PC but it is on all others

I recently installed a NAS and created a shared folder (CIFS) To connect and map it, I ran: \\192.168.x.x. UN/PW. Selected to map it and done. This worked fine on 4 of the 5 Windows 11 PCs in my house. The fifth one is constantly getting a message that the UN or PW is incorrect. On two of the others, I disconnected and removed the credentials. Reconnected with the same credentials. No problem. Created a new user account on the NAS with the same permissions as the main account and with a different PW. Tried to connect, but again the credentials were rejected. Tried the new account on another system with no problem. Checked the NAS security settings. Nothing to indicate the NAS is blocking this particular PC.

These systems all use Windows 11 Home and Bit Defender Total Security. Network discovery is enabled. Networks set to private. Nothing seems to be working

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

You can try below steps fo further troubleshoot the issue:

1.Ping/Telnet the NAS device from non-working PC

    Ping NASIP

    Telnet NASIP 443

2.Run PowerShell command on working and non-working PC

    Get-smbclientconfiguration

and see if there's any difference.

3.Delete stored credential on non-working PC and retry.

    (Run "Win+R" and input keymgr.dll)

4.Try to connect to the NAS device by other user credential on non-working PC.

5.Run wireshark or Network monitor and start the capture. Record the whole connection process and save the capture.

Then filter TCP.PORT==445 and IP.ADDR==NASIP inside and check the traffic.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
