Azure Migrate - Actual Costs of a Migration/Replication

Hello,

I have a question regarding the pricing of the Azure Migrate service. We are planning to do some testing of the Azure Migrate Service. I want work my way through the discovery, assessment, replication and migration stages.

I'm a bit confused about the following statement by Microsoft on their Pricing page for the service:

"Azure Migrate: Server migration is free for first 180 days for each machine. After 180 days, $25/month per instance replicated will be applied."

Does that mean that If I migrate 10 VMs with the Azure Migrate service I will be charged 25$ for each VM once in the month where I'm actively migrating/replicating the VMs?

Or will I have to keep on paying those 25$ for each VM even after the VMs have been migrated and the migration project has been closed/done?

I can't seem to find any more info on the practical cost impact of using that service. Microsoft says that the Azure Migrate Service is for free but there seems to be quite some costs associated with it if you plan on actually migrating the VMs.

I'm generally interested whether someone has some experience on how much costs actually have been generated in an migration/replication.

    The price listed is per replicated instance - this implies that it does not apply to any VM you fully migrated to Azure (but rather only to those we are still replicated by Azure Migrate)

    From the tile of the question, I understand that you want to know the pricing for Azure Migrate service. From Azure Migrate perspective it is exactly as what you have mentioned. If you keep replicating the VM (not migrated) after the 180 days, we will start charging 25$ for each. Once the VM is Migrated, it is a working VM in Azure so expect the "normal" charges based on the VM SKU and storage.
