It is unclear when you're getting this message. It sounds like your version is either a trial and has expired or it is an illegal copy.

    • Are you able to open Access by clicking on the icon in Start Menu or wherever?
    • What version are you running? Note that there is an older MS Store version that is deprecated and generally comes with new machines and the actual desktop version. You can get to the version by starting Access and clicking Account.
    • In the Account dialog, does it show you as being logged in using your MS account? If not then sign in.
    • If you are logged in then check the license information on the right. Does it need to be refreshed?
    • Do any other Office apps work like Word?

Office is licensed one of two ways:

    • You have a subscription, or your school provides one. In that case you need to sign into your account in Access. At that point it should pull down your license.
    • You have a product key. In that case you need to enter the product key in the Account section. You are now licensed to use the product without an MS account or subscription.

If you are a student AND your school provides a subscription for Office then you'll need to use your EDU account to sign in most likely. But be aware that Access may not be part of your Office student subscription. Your school should provide information on what is available to you.

If you were using a trial version then the trial expired and you'll need a license to continue using Office. If you're a student then there are student discounts.
