We have two node windows cluster running on on-prem VMware platform , can anyone please confirm if it is supported and we can replicate both cluster nodes to Azure public cloud using ASR . And we can failover them Azure and even failback.

I don't see any documentation related to that and i am not sure if this will be successful .I have seen some articles for hyper v cluster which we can replicate to Azure using ASR.

But the cluster nodes which we have is just pure windows failover cluster nodes. kindly confirm

Hello @N Wakchaure, Jagdish Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to help!

I'm sorry to say, Azure Site Recovery does not support replication for Windows Failover cluster. Only standalone on-prem servers are supported by ASR for DR.

To replicate a VMware cluster to Azure, you will need to use a third-party tool that supports replication of VMware clusters to Azure. There are several third-party tools available that support this functionality, including Zerto, Veeam, and CloudEndure.

When selecting a third-party tool for replicating a VMware cluster to Azure, it's important to ensure that the tool supports the specific version of VMware that you are using, as well as the specific version of Azure that you are targeting. You will also need to ensure that the tool supports replication of the specific workloads and applications that you are running on the cluster.

Overall, replicating a VMware cluster to Azure is a complex process that requires careful planning and configuration. It's important to work with a vendor or consultant who has experience with this process to ensure that the replication is successful and meets your business requirements.

    Hope this helps!

    Hey,

As mentioned, you can use 3rd party tools to replicate your VMs to Azure. However, Failover Cluster support can be limited. As an example: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/backup/agents/cluster_support.html?ver=120

You can also simply move your VMs to Azure, using StarWind V2V Converter.
