GPU not working on instance with gpu (T4)

I have an instance with 4xT4, I've installed cuda and the t4 drivers.

The GPUs are showing in the device manager, but not in the taskmanager under "performance".

I can not choose anything else than "Microsoft basic render driver" in the graphics preference and the app I'm trying to run (houdini) is giving me an error, because it needs at least open gl 3.3.

Any ideas on that?

    Hi ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform, thanks for posting your query here.

If you are using Nvidia GPU drivers and are still facing issues, you can try the following steps:

    • Check if the Nvidia GPU is enabled in the device manager.
    • Check if the Nvidia GPU is selected as the default GPU for your applications.
    • Open the Device Manager on your VM and make sure that your NVIDIA Tesla T4 GPU is listed under "Display adapters" without any errors or warnings.
    • Ensure that you have installed the latest NVIDIA GPU drivers that are compatible with your GPU model and the operating system you are using.

Sometimes, it's necessary to uninstall the existing drivers completely before installing new ones. Use tools like "Display Driver Uninstaller" to remove existing drivers and then install the latest drivers. Hope these troubleshooting steps help in resolving your issue.
