Hi,

I used the pricing calculator for AMS for streaming and it comes out to $64.50 on standard.

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-ca/pricing/details/media-services/

  1. Is this the price per month regardless of any consumption of bandwidth for delivery of the video, eg. still charged $64.50 even if nobody actually streams anything.
  2. Is this the price per video being streamed or on the streaming service itself? eg. I have 4 videos to be made available via streaming, is the $64.50 per video or is it for the entire streaming service?

Thanks,
Alexander Ip

    Hi @Alexlp-8657,

Thanks for your patience. Streaming is billed as the combination of streaming services and the quantity of data transferred. When Azure Content Delivery Network is enabled via Media Services portal or API for a streaming endpoint, standard Content Delivery Network pricing applies for all data transferred. Billing is prorated per minute of video processed per stream. Billing starts once the video pipeline processing is started, no matter what the processing status is (running/failed etc.), and stops when the processing is explicitly stopped. So you are paying a price per video being streamed.

Hope that helps. please let us know if you have further questions.

    Best,
    Grace
