Azure CDN Standard - Origin override rules engine not working

I'm using Azure CDN Standard with 1 endpoint. I have 1 origin that serves the domain.com and another origin to serve a REST API which I want request at domain.com/api

I have setup 2 origin groups, 1 for the web and 1 for the rest api. I used the rules engine with conditional URL path contains /api and origin group override with the origin group the rest api belongs but when I browse domain.com/api I get Not Found page.

Also when I refresh the azure rules engine page, sometimes the override group origin is unset and the list is empty.

Does anyone know what the issue is?

Can you post a screenshot of your Origin group override rule?

There are 2 likely causes for what is happening -

The override is not happening properly and the /api/ requests are being directed to your domain.com origin.

The override is happening properly, and the domain.com/api origin is not properly serving the request.

Make sure that your API origin is accessible without going through the CDN using the same URL suffix to rule out #2.

For #1, this can be because your rule is not configured properly, or the rule itself is not functioning properly.

The api url is as-ds-svc-api.azurewebsites.net which I use in origin and if you make GET request you get the OK response, is it because the original url doesn't have the /api suffix?

I also tried forwarding http to https and doesn't seem to do anything.
