Windows 11 23H2 recently introduced a new function "View Wi-Fi Security Key" within the "Manage Known Networks" Settings location.

With some deployments auto-configuring Wi-Fi via GPO and Intune, is there a way to disable this new functionality so end users are not able to view the Wi-Fi key?User's image

    Hello

Yes, it is possible to disable the “View Wi-Fi Security Key” feature in Windows 11 23H2. This can be done by modifying the registry. Here are the steps to do it:

1.Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.

2.Navigate to the following location: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\{86F80216-5DD6-4F43-953B-35EF40A35AEE}.

3.Right-click on the key and then click on "Permissions".

4.In the Permissions window, click on “Advanced” to modify the advanced settings.

5.Click on “Change” beside the ‘Owner:’ to modify the ownership of the file.

6.In Select Groups window, type “Administrators” in ‘Enter the object names to select:’ tab.

7.Click on “Check Names” to check if the name is correct.

8.Click on “OK” to add administrators in the list of permitted users of the folder.

9.Under ‘Permission entries:’, click on to select a parameter and then click on “Remove” to remove it. Repeat this step to remove all the permission entries except "System".

10.Click on “Apply” and then click on “OK” to save the changes on your computer.

If you’re managing multiple devices, you might want to consider using Group Policy or a similar tool to push these changes to all devices.
