Hi,

When we talk "packet filters" they are not in once place. You can find them in RRAS, Demand dial interface, NPS and even Direct Access...so which one to use and when?
Thanks!

    @InfoTechdude Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Q&A!

    Packet filtering is a process of selectively controlling data streams uploaded to or downloaded from the network using software or hardware devices. Packet filtering is usually part of the firewall program to protect the LAN from unnecessary intrusion.

    So when you should apply packet filter depends on your requirements and senario. Can you please describe your enviornment configuration? So we can provide more specific suggestions.

    Hope you have a nice day: )
    Gloria

    @Gloria Gu Hi. I'm trying to get general grasp of this topic. I guess it depends on configuration. Let's say you work with RRAS but use NPS VPN config. Another example would be "dreaded" DirectAccess. What should you do in both situations?
