I created 3 Excel Scripts , added buttons to the workbook for each script, and shared the excel spreadsheet through Teams, and also the scripts on sharepoint with other folks in my organization.
When they opened the excel sheet and tried to run the script from the workbook button, it asked them to "Allow" permission to the script the first time, and executed the script successfully. When they try to run it the second time, it throws the error : "The button cannot run because the script was unshared. Contact the owner to share it again." I checked the script permission, and nothing had changed, it still had the same access.
When they tried to run the script from workbook by clicking the "Run" button against the script, it ran fine, but the workbook button keeps on throwing the error, although it ran fine the first time.

It seems the problem only happens when using button, if in user's environment, run the script directly (throught the Automate/open script), there is no problem. Further test result:
I think both cases are really bad for user experience.
When run using the script it works just fine, but it isn't a user experience that we would want to give to the users.
On 2. , we are fine if it pops up once and the users have the click the button "Allow" and then it runs. The problem is that it only runs once and then afterwards, the button clicks do not work.

We have this exact same issue, whereby the scripts work fine on the first click but not on the second. If they are run via the automate tab then they work fine. I noticed that when clicking on the Automate Tab and then pressing 'This Workbook' it can take a long time to load the scripts. Could there be a connection/time out issue here?
We are in a mixed native Mac app/web environment. The scripts are in a personal OneDrive. I have tried adding the users so they have explicit access to the folder but this makes no difference. The Excel files are duplicates of a master template and are either stored in a Sharepoint site or personal Onedrives.

I have no answer but have the same problem.
I have an Excel 365 workbook that has three scripts which are activated by a button on worksheet. It has been working property for almost 2 years. Today, for the first time, we are seeing this error when trying to run the script. I have tried replacing the button, creating a new worksheet with new buttons, but, so far, the issue still returns.
I sure could use a proven solution.
