Private enpoint options missing from PostgreSQL Flexible Server

I'm trying to set up a private endpoint for a public facing PostgreSQL flexible server, but the option is missing from the Networking tab of my database. I have other databases that have this option and I've successfully set up links to virtual networks with it. Is there some other option I need to enable to add private links on my database?

Hi @James

So, you are trying to update your azure Postgres flexible server from public to private vnet please do let me know if that is not accurate.

If so, we have a limitation on changing networking configuration for exciting server. Please check the documentation for reference.

No, I'm trying to add a private endpoint to my database. See on one of my databases, the Networking blade looks like this with the "Private endpoints" section:

I don't believe the feature was enabled when the database was created. Am I able to add it to my database? The article is a bit confusing

Since you are announcing GA for Private Link based networking for newly created servers, how can I add this feature to server created before GA announcement?

At this time, you can create Private Endpoints for servers created with public networking option after GA announcement or during our public preview for subscriptions that added a preview feature, as documented previously. We are working on migration tooling that would allow older servers with public networking model to be capable of adding Private Endpoints with minimum effort and downtime.

@James As you mentioned, the server was created on March 11th, during which you should have enabled the feature since it was in preview. However, if you create a new server, you should be able to add the private endpoint. If, at that moment, the private endpoint feature was not enabled on the subscription, it would be impossible to add a private endpoint. When the feature was in public preview, a prerequisite was to add the feature to your subscription.For the existing server, you have to wait until a new deployment is made. Currently, we don't have any ETA on when that will be available.
