Need to confirm if existing VMs are still able to use default outbound access after 30 September 2025

In official documents https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/default-outbound-access-for-vms-in-azure-will-be-retired-transition-to-a-new-method-of-internet-access/. It says "Your existing VMs that use default outbound access will continue to work after this retirement". Does it mean all VMs created before 30 September 2025 can still use default outbound access after 30 September 2025?

    @Chao Yan ,

    Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & I hope you are doing well.

    Yes, your observation is correct.

    This is mentioned in the retirement announcement you shared as well.

    Your existing VMs that use default outbound access will continue to work after this retirement, however, we strongly recommend transitioning to an explicit outbound method

    Kindly let us know if this helps or you need further assistance on this issue.

    Thanks,

    Kapil
