Hello 

 

Please i need your help on this issue. 

 

The newest version of Excel 16.85 is having permission issues with opening encrypted Excel files

 

I've opened the Excel file on my MAC that is in my downloads folder.

This issue looks to be on all files that are encrypted through the sensitivity label.

I am able to open the file while on 16.84 then when I update to the latest update 16.85 I would get the permissions error so when I uninstalled 16.85 and reinstall 16.84 it would open again.

    Are these encrypted stored on SharePoint online or OneDrive?

    • I suggest you close all Office apps, delete the account keychain.
    • Then open one Office app, such as Excel, and re-sign in account.
    • Sign into SharePoint online or OneDrive online, open these files from desktop app for a check.

    Besides, where did you get the newest version of Office for Mac? Please change the installation file.
