How to disable automatic hiding of print job progress window in Windows 10 20H2?

Hi all,

I regularly need to debug print jobs, e.g. how much pages are created, how long printing takes, how much storage jobs consume etc. My needs can easily be fulfilled by using the special window to look at currently running print jobs per printer, like in the following example:

With Windows 20H2 I just recognized that this window seems to automatically close after ~45 seconds after the last print job has been processed. This es an extremely bad behaviour in my use case, because I often need more time to prepare the next print job, have a closer look at print results and stuff like that. It's extremely annoying to need to reopen that window over and over again.

Is there any way to disable the automatic hiding? Thanks!

    Hi,

Yes, I think your comment should be correct.

I have done a lab test with Windows 10 20H2, I did not have this problem. So the issue should not come from Windows but from the specific printers or third party print drivers.

Anyway, glad to hear your issue seems to disappear now.

    Thanks,

    Eleven
