Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Entra Domain Services for Azue Files as a file server.

Hello, my Entra ID DNS name is unavailable for me to use in the Entra Domain Services because it's longer the 15 characters. therefore, I used a different DNS name for the Entra Domain Services.

keep in mind they are both on the same subscription and resource group.

I wish to integrate and connect the 2 for my main issue is,

I want to create azure files as an internal file server for the company.

I needed a Entra Domain services for the authentication method to connect the azure files service I created. (Image 1) (image taken on the connect option in the azure files created on the specified subscription's resource group)

after creating both Entra Domain Services and azure files when I'm trying to mount the azure file as a file server on endpoint, he can't find the domain controller.

if anyone has had experience with this task of implementing an azure file as a file server, please share your workflow and maybe enlighten me with an answer

    I understand that you are facing an issue while mounting the Azure file share on an endpoint as it fails because the domain controller cannot be found.

    Please verify that your virtual network DNS settings are pointing to the Azure AD DS DNS servers.

    And check that Network Security Group (NSG) rules allow traffic to and from the Azure AD DS domain controllers.

    Also ensure the VM is joined to the Azure AD DS domain and can resolve the domain controllers.

    Here is an example of mount command with domain credentials:

    net use Z: \\storageaccountname.file.core.windows.net\sharename /u:yourdomain\username password

    If the issue persists, please provide specific error messages/screenshots.
