I created a new GPO for MS Office ProPlus 2019 for GCS exam students. In this policy, I have set restrictions on proofing and some other settings, but after applying the GPO, users can still access the File ribbon and options button to change the proofing settings. Can anyone help me block access to the File ribbon?

    Hi @Manesh Appukkuttan

We are unable to disable "FIle" tab in ribbon.

The link "https://stackoverflow.com/questions/51435554/how-to-disable-file-button-in-ms-word-2013" you may have a look.

Did you grey our following commands via group policy: Microsoft Office Word 2016 > Disable Items from User Interface > Custom > Disable Commands?

    SetLanguage |790

    SpellingAndGrammar |2566

    Thesaurus |9056

To prevent students from using proofing tools during exams, you can go to: File > Options > Language > Choose Editing Language, add a new language, ensure the language that students use is not the preferred one, then uninstall/remove it.

Before students take exams, please disconnect from the external web connection.
