well, if I select String (German: "Zeichenfolge"), the value is published as a string, as it is supposed to. We don't get to see what Orchestrator names the published variable internally, probably "$Zeichenfolge_foo = [...]"

The example script just defines "$foo = 1"

sorry, I don't understand the purpose of the question. The value of the published string is the value that I define in the script itself.

If I define $foo = 1 and then publish 'foo' as a string, the published value is "1".

I need to be able to publish it as an Integer though.

sorry, I just wanted to make sure that the value of the variable for the Published Data is actually integer. But with the 'script' "$foo = 1" it is very clear :-).

I have only english versions for System Center 2022 available. So I can't try to reproduce this.

I would workaround it and if you have the possibilty contact Microsoft for this.

Perhaps you need integer for the link conditions. Then I would handle the conditions in a script:

if ($foo -lt 5) {
    $direction = 'right'
}
else {
    $direction = 'left'
}

And then just publish direction as string data.
