I am getting the following error when trying to connect Azure Open AI to AI Search. "Failed to retrieve information about the selected search resource. Please try again later or choose a different resource."

Both the Open AI Service and Azure AI Search are on a public network in the same Azure resource groupand I have temporarily given the openai app identity Owner role to the AI Search service but still get the same error.

What could I have missed? Please help! :)

Thank you that was helpful. The issue was the private link setup.

I managed to get that data source activated however in the OpenAI Studio I get the following error

Is this an issue with the blob connection? Also I wasn't sure if I should create an index in AI Search first or this process creates the index itself.

Below Error can happen because of multiple reasons-

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

You may try below-

Could you enable developer mode on your browser and check for any issues or errors? Also, try to login again to the studio or use a different browser to check if the issue occurs while upload.

You need to create Index first in your search service and Please make sure your index has at least one searchable field. Learn more about field assignments here

@Hamish Browne Thanks for reaching here! You may try below-

I see you have already created Search service- could you please close your add data window, refresh Azure portal and then again try to add data.

Try creating a shared private link between AI search and Open AI.

Also, double check if your named search resource had not been deleted.
