How to know if corporate identifier (Manufacturer, Model, SN) is correctly filled?

Hi!

I am testing the new autopilot preparation tool, but I am having trouble enrolling it.

  • The personal devices are not authorized to enroll thanks to a device platform restriction;
  • The user is in the group assigned to the autopilot preparation profile;
  • All users are allowed to enroll in Intune;
  • My user has a license for Intune;
  • I added the corporate identifier in Devices > Enrollment > Corporate identifiers with the format "Manufacturer, Model, SN";
  • In the troubleshooting tool of Intune, it says that my test user tried to enroll a personal device;
  • The error that I get in my test laptop is 80180014 ("this feature is not supported"), which is the device personal restriction error;
  • The media creation tool to install windows on the test laptop has been created last week from an updated laptop, so it should have the relevant KB for Windows Autopilot preparation (hopefully... if there is any way to find out from the laptop directly, please let me know).

Since my testing is not very conclusive, I was wondering if my corporate identifier (that I created based on the doc: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/mem/intune/enrollment/corporate-identifiers-add#add-windows-corporate-identifiers) was wrong.

The line only indicates it as "Not contacted".

Is there any guidance to know if it is correctly set, any way to validate and correct it please?

    @Medea, Thanks for posting in Q&A.

    From your description, I know you got some error while do Autopilot enrollment.

    Based on my research, when we do Autopilot enrollment, the device will be identified as Corporate with or without corporate identifiers, therefore, blocking personally enrollment will not block Autopilot enrollment.

    For the error message, please check if MDM is blocked in Device Restrictions on the Intune platform, and if so, allow it, which may also be the cause of the error.

    Or you can check if you can successfully enroll Intune by excluding the user you want to test from the restriction.

    As for corporate identifier show Not contacted, please check whether you enter the correct manufacturer, model, and serial number.

    Autopilot devices will always be marked as corporate... but with apv2, if you are using device restrictions enrollments, the device will be blocked from enrollment

    IN the future you can use corporate identifiers.. for now there is a known issue with it... and ain't working
