Hello, I know that for SPO/OneDrive there are certain settings re. expiration of guest access to a link of a shared object. These can be configured org-wide or per site.

Now my questin is, does this also apply to permission settings managed by a site owner on site or library level? I mean, not these share file think which creates a link etc.. but regular permissoin settings wher one can stop inheritance and add users groups etc. (Advanced Permission Settings - /_layouts/15/user.aspx) If there are guest users added there (as group member sor directly assinged), do they also loose permission after e.g. 60 days if this is the cnfiguration on global or site level?

thanks

Dieter

    Hi @Dieter Tontsch (GMail) ,

When it comes to sharing links or individual files and folders in SharePoint Online (SPO) or OneDrive, guest access can be configured with an expiration time. Each guest invited to a site or with whom you share content is granted access for a specific number of days.

Permission settings managed by site owners (such as stopping inheritance and adding user groups) operate differently. These settings are not tied to guest access expiration. They do not automatically expire based on a global or site-level configuration. Instead, they persist until explicitly modified by the site owner or administrator.
