Office365 email alias

Hello,

Let say i have exchange email account named user1@mydomain.com then i have application to monitor servers and this app will send email notification if the server have trouble.

Can i make an alias under user1@mydomain.com and the alias name for example named to no-reply@mydomain.com, so the application will send the mail from no-reply and not from user1?

What i already test is created the alias but when the application try to register, the browser pop up is come and ask for credential, when i try log using no-reply@mydomain.com seems Microsoft not recognize this account.

    Hi,

    Welcome to the Microsoft forum.

    I did some testing and found that when you add an alias named "no-brucej" for user brucej, you cannot use the alias to log in to Outlook. This is because aliases cannot be used as login credentials, they can only be used to receive emails. When you have an alias and send an email, the original email address is still displayed in the FROM part:

    Therefore, your application will not send mail using [no-reply@mydomain.com].

    Your app doesnt need to authenticate to send email . Instead, have it send notifications to your Exchange Server by simply connecting anonymously and sending the messages and you can send as any FROM you want.
