Hello, I have some questions related to in-place upgrade of MySQL server to a MySQL Flexible server. Server Name Retention: During the in-place upgrade of our MySQL Single Server to a Flexible Server, will the Flexible Server retain the same name as the Single Server? Connection String: Will the connection string for our databases change after the migration to a Flexible Server? VNet and Subnet Selection: Does the in-place auto upgrade process provide an option to select the target Virtual Network (VNet) and Subnet for the newly created Flexible Server? thank you.

@GeethaThatipatri-MSFT thank you for your quick response. Since Flexible servers require a dedicated subnet, we can't use the same subnet as our current servers. What are our options?

@GeethaThatipatri-MSFT -in MySQL Import CLI , can I use the exact same name for the Flexible server as the Single server? That means using the same name for the source (MySQL Single server) and the destination (MySQL Flexible Server) server, if possible.

@Chowdhury, Nasim (HC/SC) The MySQL Import tooling doesn’t create the Flexible Server with the same name as the source server, you need to pass in a unique name for the target Flexible Server as part of the CLI command.

@GeethaThatipatri-MSFT if I want to migrate ( using az import create ) the MySQL Flexible server in the existing subnet ( which is currently not delegated to a service) of the MySQL Single server, is it possible? If yes, will the subnet delegation change after the migration. We do not want that, as there are couple of other MySQL servers using that subnet.

We recently got a notification from Microsoft about an upcoming in-place auto migration scheduled for a certain date. It appears this MySQL single to Flexible server migration will include the private endpoint, which is advantageous for us. Nevertheless, we do not wish for the migration to occur on the given date. Attempting to reschedule triggered an authentication request, resulting in an error. Do you have any suggestions on resolving this problem?
