Is your accounts in public Azure, Azure Germany, Azure China, or Azure US Govt?
It sounds like there may be some confusion around the use of 2FA for your Azure account. Here are a few things to consider:
- Check if your organization has enabled 2FA: It's possible that your organization has enabled 2FA for all accounts, including yours. You can check with your IT administrator to confirm if this is the case.
- Check if you have enabled 2FA for your account: It's possible that you may have enabled 2FA for your account without realizing it. You can check your account settings in the Azure portal to see if 2FA is enabled.
- Check if you are using the correct authentication method: It's possible that you may be using the wrong authentication method when prompted for your 2FA code. For example, if you have set up 2FA using a mobile app, you may be entering a code generated by a hardware token instead.
- Try resetting your 2FA settings: If you are still having issues, you can try resetting your 2FA settings. You can do this by going to the Azure portal, selecting your account, and then selecting "Security info". From there, you can remove any existing 2FA settings and set up new ones
