I am having issues with my SCCM sync update process. After setting up the SUP in SCCM, I initiated a sync in the console. However, the sync was not successful, and upon checking the sync status in WSUS, the result showed as canceled. The error message in the wsyncmgr.log reads:

Sync failed: WSUS update source not found on site PRI. Please refer to WCM.log for configuration error details. Source: getSiteUpdateSource

    Hi, @SliperPoon

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

The error message indicates that the software update point (SUP) is unable to find the WSUS update source. This can happen if the SUP is not properly configured or if the WSUS server is not configured correctly. To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:

    1. Verify that the SUP is properly configured. Check the SUP properties in the Configuration Manager console to ensure that the correct WSUS server and port number are specified.
    2. Check the Update Source settings in the WSUS console on the software update point site system server. These settings are set automatically by WSUS Configuration Manager (WCM). If these settings don't match, review WCM.log.
    3. Check the connectivity between the site server and the WSUS server. Ensure that the Update Services service is running on the WSUS server, and that the Default website or WSUS Administration website is running on the WSUS server. Verify that the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for the software update point site system server is correct and accessible from the site server.
    4. Check the port settings configured for the software update point. Verify that they're the same as the port settings configured for the website used by WSUS running on the software update point.

It looks like there is a firewall issue blocking the traffic between WSUS and Microsoft Servers, please get with your IT team who handles the firewall so they can allow it, also you can pick one of the URLs from the logs you mentioned and try to open it from your server, see if you can reach out and download the cap file, usually, this URL starts with something like https://go.microsoft.com/.

Also, sometimes you may have to remove and re-install the Software Update role again.

    Regards,

    Matt
