    Hello everyone!

Currently, I found that over 90% of the cost from "Premium Automated Serverless Compute - Promo DBU" is due to Databricks Materialized View working with Job + SQL Warehouse Serverless. I have now resolved the issue by discontinuing the use of Materialized View and reverting to using a regular Delta Table. I noticed that the associated cost has almost entirely disappeared.

@Pratya Thanwatthanakit - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

By default, new workspaces have serverless SQL warehouses enabled in supported regions. See Enable serverless SQL warehouses.

"Premium Automated Serverless Compute - Promo DBU" is a type of Azure Databricks unit (DBU) that provides access to premium features such as autoscaling, job scheduling, and advanced security. These features are designed to help you optimize your Databricks workloads and improve performance.

To disable "Premium Automated Serverless Compute - Promo DBU" expenses, you can either reduce your usage of premium features or switch to a lower tier of Databricks that doesn't include these features. However, keep in mind that disabling these features may impact the performance of your workloads.

The costs of "Premium Automated Serverless Compute - Promo DBU" can be high because they provide access to premium features that are designed to improve the performance and efficiency of your Databricks workloads. The costs can vary depending on your usage and the size of your Databricks cluster. To optimize your costs, you can consider pre-purchasing Azure Databricks commit units (DBCU) for one or three years, which can help you save on your DBU costs. You can also use Azure Cost Management and Billing to monitor and optimize your Azure spending.

For strategies on analyzing serverless usage, see Monitor the cost of serverless compute.

Regarding the pricing, checkout Azure Databricks pricing page:
