Defender for Endpoint > Vulnerability Management > Windows Authenticated Scan - Error 400 Unable to start connection test.

I am trying to run a Microsoft Vulnerability Management Scan -> via Defender for Endpoint running a Windows Authenticated scan on hostnames.

I have done all the setup required, but I am unable to do the final step which is setup a New Scan (Device Discovery>Authenticated Scans> New Scan).

I am getting the following error

Everything seems to be fine.

We weren't able to install the scanner - we disconnected the device from domain, installed the scanner and then rejoined it to the domain.

If I understand you question, the answer should be Microsoft Defender portal.

Hi Syed,

It's possible that the scanner is not able to receive commands, or the scanner software is not properly installed. Could you also ensure that there are no network issues or firewall settings blocking the installation or communication with the Defender for Endpoint service.
