Unable to Create Azure Batch Pool Due to "Pool Quota Reached" Error Despite Having Zero Pools

I'm encountering an issue with Azure Batch where I'm unable to create a new batch pool. The error message I'm receiving is: poolquotaReached: pool quota for the account has been reached. However, when I check the quota, it shows that my current pool size is 0.

Here are some details about my situation:

  • Azure Service: Azure Batch
  • Error Message: poolquotaReached: pool quota for the account has been reached
  • Current Pool Size: 0
  • Actions Taken:
    • Verified quota through the Azure Portal, which confirms that no pools are currently in use.
    • Checked for any hidden or lingering pools that might be consuming quota, but found none.

I am unsure how to proceed with this issue. Has anyone encountered a similar problem, or can someone provide guidance on how to resolve this? Is there a possibility that my account quota is incorrectly configured, or could this be a bug?

Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Stanley Ramakrishnan ,

Thank you for reaching out to us on Microsoft Q&A forum.

We understand from your query that you are experiencing an issue while trying to create an Azure Batch Pool due to reaching the Pool Quota.

Please follow these steps to create an Azure Batch Pool: create a Batch account and run a job

Note: In some regions and subscription types, quota restrictions might cause Batch account or node creation to fail or not complete.

In such situations, you can request a quota increase at no charge. For more information, see Batch service quotas and limits

If you already have a Pay-As-You-Go subscription, you can request a quota increase.

If you are using an Azure free trial subscription, you are unable to request quotas and limits. User's image If you have any further queries, do let us know.
