DFS Namespace configuration using Azure Paas resources

We have DFS Namespace configuration in windows Server(Azure VM) but need same DFS setup using Azure Paas resources without using VM.So i am looking for alternative for DFS in azure using Paas resources.

DFS-N

[DFS Namespaces] is a role service in Windows Server that enables you to group shared folders located on different servers into one or more logically structured namespaces. This makes it possible to give users a virtual view of shared folders, where a single path leads to files located on multiple server.

    You can use Azure File Sync ( https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/storage/file-sync/file-sync-introduction ) to replace DFS-R, but for DFS-N, you still need a Windows Server (there is no corresponding Azure PaaS service) that provides the equivalent functionality

    Azure File Sync allows you to centralize your organization's file shares in Azure Files, providing cloud benefits while retaining the performance and compatibility of an on-premises file server.

    First, you need to set up an Azure Storage Account, within this storage account, you can create multiple Azure File Shares, each corresponding to different departmental or project-based shares.

    Next, deploy the Azure File Sync agent on your on-premises file servers. By registering your on-premises servers with the Azure File Sync service and creating a sync group, you can link your local file paths to Azure File Shares.

    To provide seamless access to these file shares, you can map Azure File Shares as network drives on client machines.

    For archival and backup purposes, Azure Blob Storage can be utilized. This service offers scalable and cost-effective storage for large amounts of data, with options for different storage tiers based on access patterns. Lifecycle management policies can be set up to automatically transition data to cooler storage tiers or delete it after a specified period, further optimizing costs.
