MySQL flexible server CPU credits suddenly consumed?

Hello,

My Azure MySQL flexible server is configured with burstable tier. It was configured as B1ms, and a few days ago I switched to B1s. After the change, almost all CPU credits suddenly dissapeared and a few days later the server became unresponsive.

Checking the metrics for CPU credits consumption, it is very low so I see no reason it would be consumed so fast. CPU usage is also low, nothing special on the metrics.

Any idea why this might happen?

    @Bogdan Vasile

    Thank you for reaching out.

    It seems like you’re experiencing an issue with your Azure MySQL flexible server after switching from B1ms to B1s in the burstable tier.

    This behavior is inherent to Azure MySQL B-SKUs with 1 VCore. Our Azure MySQL Flexible Service team is currently evaluating options to mitigate the impact on customers and to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.

    Recommended Actions

    Understanding the significance of this issue on your operations, we recommend, for production workloads, transitioning to either the General Purpose or Business Critical tiers. Please review performance limitations of burstable series instances The Burstable tier is ideally more suited for non-production environments. To specifically address CPU-related issues, we advise transitioning from the B1s/B1ms size to the B2s or B2ms, or a higher SKU. We empathize with the difficulties this issue may have caused and assure you of our continued commitment to resolving it promptly.
