Why does Microsoft turn my mic back on during an update?

Experiencing a lot of Microsoft spyware issues with my new laptop with the latest Windows Pro.

My laptop just updated and a lot of my privacy selections have been switched back on. It is creepy that Microsoft is doing this to paying clients. If it happens again I'm sending this machine back and switching to Apple. I mostly do video editing anyway.
