I want to create an Outlook Rule with the following scenario:

  1. If an email with specific terms, like "ABC" in subject AND containing a specific DL in CC/To, then the email should land in a custom folder. Exception: If my name/address is there is To/CC/Email Body then the email should land in my inbox
  2. If an email with the same set of terms in subject("ABC") and NOT containing the specific DL in CC/To, the email should land in my Inbox.

The sender in both the scenarios remain same.

Any help on this shall be really helpful.

    Do you mean that when an email contains both your address and specific DL in the To/CC/Email Body, the message should remain in the Inbox instead of the custom folder, right?

    If so, please follow the below steps to create the rule:

    1. File>Info>Manage Rules & Alerts>New Rule...>Apply rule on messages I receive:

    2. Select With specific words in the subject>click specific words>Add the words you need>click OK. User's image
    3. Select sent to people or public group>click people or public group, select or type the specific DL you need>click OK.

    4. Click Next>select move it to the specified folder>click specified to select the folder you need to move to>click OK. User's image
    5. Click Next>select except if my name is in the To or Cc box.

    6. Click Next and create a name for your rule.
