    Hello Herbert Santiago ,

Thank you for reaching out on the Microsoft Q&A .

No egress costs apply when refreshing Power BI data from Azure Blob storage if both reside in the same region. This is because data transfer within a region is considered internal traffic. To avoid egress charges, verify your Power BI service tenant is in the same region as your Blob storage. If not, consider relocating your Power BI service or using Azure Data Factory for data movement within Azure. Refer to the Power BI and Azure egress documentation for details.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

    Hello Herbert Santiago,

Greetings! Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform.

When using Power BI with Azure data sources, you can avoid Azure egress charges by ensuring that your Power BI service tenant is in the same region as your Azure data sources. When your Power BI service tenant is deployed in the same Azure region as your data sources, you won’t incur egress charges for scheduled refresh and DirectQuery interactions.

If the data transfer is happening within the same Availability Zone, then the data transfer is free. This means if your Storage Account and VM are in the same Availability Zone region, you would not incur any data transfer costs.

However, if the data transfer is happening between two different Availability Zones, even if they are in the same region, then there is a cost incur.
