Hello,

We have bought RIs at resource group level and we want to split the RI cost among various application owners based on RI discount their resources got in billing for that hour.

Let's assume there are three equal size VMs in an RG and we have bought 2 unit of RI (same SKU as VM)

RI being billing mechanism might be applied as

VM1 - 1 hour RI (VM owned by application owner 1)

VM2 - 45 minutes RI ( VM owned by application owner 2)

VM3 - 15 minutes RI (VM owned by application owner 3)

or it might be applied as

VM1 - 1 hour RI (VM owned by application owner 1)

VM2 - 1 hour RI (VM owned by application owner 2)

VM3 - Completely on demand (VM owned by application owner 3)

In the given situation, it's not logical to divide RI cost equally for that hour among all three application owners, rather we need to find what part of RI was utilized by an application owner in an given hour and charge back him/her accordingly.

Appreciate your response.

Thank you!

Hello @Anil Kumar Thank you for posting your question on the Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to assist!

I understand your requirement on getting split RI cost for different applications. The closest option is to download the amortized usage report which will show the RI applied VM cost which will be the discounted cost for each VM which got the RI benefits. Hope this helps!
