Using AI Builder to extract date from a single Bill with multiple invoices

Hi everyone,

Hope you are doing well. As mentioned in the title, I have a lot of bills ranging from 5 pages to 120 pages. All the bills have invoices in the same format. Now, I want to extract the invoice details into an Excel file and send it as an email using Power automate. The problem is some invoices go for 2 pages and some take up 1.5 pages. How can I split the pages and use AI builder to extract this data. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Santosh, thank you so much for your prompt response.
I am able to extract data and populate it in excel for the first invoice in the document but I'm not able to do it for the rest. I went through the resources you shared but I'm still not able to come up with a proper plan. Can you help me with the flow which can separate the invoices in the document and then extract the data in these invoices please?

To manage multiple invoices within a document and extract their details into Excel using Power Automate, start by splitting the multi-page PDF into individual pages by using any third-party tool. Use markers like keywords to distinguish where each invoice begins and ends. Save these pages to a storage location like Azure Blob storage or in your preferred location.

Next, create a flow in Power Automate those loops through each stored page. Utilize AI Builder’s "Invoice Processing" model within the loop to extract data such as invoice numbers, dates, and amounts from each page. Append this extracted data to an Excel file where you’ve predefined columns for clarity. Once all invoices are processed and data is populated in Excel, configure Power Automate to send the Excel file as an email attachment. This streamlined approach ensures you can efficiently manage and extract invoice data while leveraging automation tools to handle the complexity.

Using AI Builder to extract the invoice details from each page. You can create a new AI Builder model using the "Invoice Processing" template. This template is designed to extract invoice details from a variety of invoice formats, including multi-page invoices.

You can also try using Custom document processing model.
