I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with logging into your school account using Microsoft Authenticator. The error code 500121 typically indicates an issue with the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) setup. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    Step 1: Verify Account Details

    1. Check Credentials: Ensure that your username and password are correct.
    2. Account Status: Verify that your account is active and not locked out or disabled.

    Step 2: Reconfigure Microsoft Authenticator

    1. Remove Existing Account:
      • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app.
      • Remove the problematic account by selecting it and then tapping the three dots (or the settings icon) and choosing "Remove account."
    2. Re-add Account:
      • Go to the Azure Portal, Microsoft 365 portal, or the specific portal your school uses.
      • Sign in with your school account.
      • Navigate to Security Info or Multi-Factor Authentication settings.
      • Follow the instructions to set up the Microsoft Authenticator app again.
      • Scan the QR code provided by the portal using the Microsoft Authenticator app.

    Step 3: Check MFA Settings

    1. Verify MFA Configuration:
      • Go to the Azure AD Portal.
      • Navigate to Users > Multi-Factor Authentication.
      • Check your MFA configuration and ensure it’s set up correctly.
    2. Reset MFA:
      • If the above steps don't work, you may need to reset your MFA settings.
      • Contact your school’s IT support to reset your MFA settings.
      • Once reset, follow the steps to reconfigure the Microsoft Authenticator app.

Step 4: Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

    1. Clear Cache and Cookies:
      • Go to your browser settings.
      • Clear cache and cookies.
      • Try logging in again.

Step 5: Use Alternate MFA Methods

    1. Alternate Methods:
      • If the Authenticator app is still not working, consider setting up alternate MFA methods such as SMS or a phone call.
      • Go to the MFA settings in your portal and add an alternate method.

Step 6: Update and Reinstall Applications

    1. Update Apps:
      • Ensure that both the Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Authenticator apps are updated to the latest version.
      • Update your browser and any related applications.
    2. Reinstall Apps:
      • If updating doesn’t work, try uninstalling and reinstalling both the Microsoft Authenticator and Microsoft Teams apps.

Step 7: Check JavaScript API and Exchange Server Settings

    1. JavaScript API:
      • Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings.
      • Ensure that there are no browser extensions blocking JavaScript execution.
    2. Exchange Server Management:
      • Verify that your account has the correct permissions in Exchange Server Management.
      • Contact your school’s IT support if you suspect there might be an issue with permissions.

Step 8: Microsoft Support and School IT Support

    1. Contact Support:
      • If none of the above steps work, contact Microsoft Support for further assistance.
      • Provide them with the error code 500121 and details of the issue.
    2. School IT Support:
      • Reach out to your school’s IT support team for help. They may have specific configurations or policies that need to be addressed.

    Additional Resources

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the error and successfully log in using the Microsoft Authenticator app. If you continue to experience issues, it’s best to get in touch with your school's IT support for further assistance.
