I tried creating azure front door service from my Azure free trial subscription, but I got the error as "Free Trial & Student Account is forbidden for Azure front door resources."

Can you please let me know if Microsoft has restricted free users from creating Azure Front Door resources? Do I need to have a pay-as-you go subscription to create Azure Front Door resources?

    Hello @ADITYA RAJ ,

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A Platform. Thank you for reaching out & hope you are doing well.

I understand that you are unbale to create Azure Front door service with your Azure Free trial account and getting the following error "Free Trial & Student Account is forbidden for Azure front door resources."

As mentioned in the below document,

Bandwidth throttling is applied to Azure Front Door Standard/Premium profiles, based on your subscription type. And bandwidth throttling is applied for Free and Trial Subscription.

    Refer: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/frontdoor/standard-premium/subscription-offers

So, you should upgrade to a Pay-as-you-go subscription.

    Refer: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/upgrade-azure-subscription

But the point to note here is:

Even when you upgrade to a Pay-as-you-go subscription, bandwidth will be throttled until the subscription is determined to be in good standing and has a sufficient payment history. The process for determining the subscription status and having throttling removed happens automatically after the first payment has been received. If you have made a payment and throttling hasn't been removed, you can request to do so by contacting support.

So, once you upgrade to Pay-as-you-go subscription and make the first payment, bandwidth throttling will be removed for you to be able to deploy Azure Front Door service.

Kindly let us know if the above helps or you need further assistance on this issue.
