I have an Azure subscription but the company for which I have created the subscription will not pay for the subscription.

I pay for it out my own pocket.

I need to cancel the subscription. How do I go about this process?

    Hello Phlip Pretorius,

    Thanks for your question.

To cancel the subscription please follow the steps here: https://video2.skills-academy.com/en-us/azure/cost-management-billing/manage/cancel-azure-subscription?source=recommendations

    1. In the Azure portal, go to "Cost Management + Billing."
    2. In the left menu, select "Subscriptions" and choose the subscription you want to cancel.
    3. At the top of the subscription page, select "Cancel."
    4. Select a reason for cancellation and, if applicable, turn off auto-renew for any support plans.
    5. If there are running resources, turn them off. Then select "Cancel subscription" to finalize.

Pls note you require Owner RBAC on subscription scope to perform this action.

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

    Regards,

    Abiola

    Hi Phlip Pretorius,

We appreciate your engagement with us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.

In addition to @akinbade abiola ,to resolve your azure subscription cancel issue, please follow these steps to create a support request in the Azure portal:

If you are unable to find the cancel button, please reach out to Azure billing and subscription management team by raising a support request using these steps: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-portal/supportability/how-to-create-azure-support-request

Azure Billing and Subscription support is offered by Microsoft at no cost and it's for free.

Remember that after canceling your Azure subscription, you can delete it once all required conditions are met. Azure closes your current billing cycle within 72 hours, or three calendar days.
