Microsoft Purview currently does not support reconciling renamed columns in Tableau Online. This is because Purview relies on the metadata provided by the data source to understand the structure of the data. If the columns are renamed in Tableau Online, Purview may not be able to match them with the original columns in the data source.
Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our feedback channel. Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.
However, Microsoft is constantly working to improve Purview's capabilities and features. I suggest keeping an eye on the Purview documentation and release notes for any updates on this issue. In the meantime, you may want to consider using Tableau's native metadata management capabilities to manage the metadata of your Tableau data sources.
