Azure Backup and ASR support for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is endorsed by Azure in GA but is not listed in supported operating system for both Azure Backup and ASR.

What are the plans for this?

    You are correct "Ubuntu 22.04 LTS is endorsed by Azure in GA" and the official announcement is here - https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/updates/generally-available-ubuntu-2404-lts-for-azure-virtual-machines/Regarding your question about Ubuntu 24.04 LTS support for Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery is still in discussion. This has been confirmed by the product group: currently, it is not supported and there is not a definite timeliness to share publicly.

    I shall get back to this thread once there is any update from the product teams.
