Why isn't copilot using the entire word document to offer tips and summaries?

I am writing a three-page article about a conference I attended. It contains travel tips, conference information, and a list of all the music they used this year.

I recently added a test run of Copilot, so I am trying to give it opportunities to help me. When I ask the copilot to summarize or rewrite in a different voice, it only looks at the music list. I have a zero percent success rate with Copilot in Excel and OneNote so far, but I am shocked that it can't do simple things in a small Word document. I asked it to summarize all three pages, and it came back with a summary of the last song on the list. When I ask it what the 3 pages of the document are about, it talks about undergoing the effort of recreating a playlist. I have even tried to tell CP to ignore the music list and create a document summary, but once it came back with an error, the second time, it came back with a commentary on the last song again.

I am only trying to interact with CP via the prompt inside the Word doc.

I have tried to use it for a week and the only thing I have accomplished is lower productivity. Am I missing something obvious here or is this just a bust for now?

    Hi,

According to the article: Keep it short and sweet: a guide on the length of documents that you provide to Copilot, we can get "For those who love word counts, aim to stay at or below 15,000 words. This is a sweet spot for Copilot to work effectively".

Microsoft is constantly working to expand Copilot's capabilities, and such the character limit will increase over time, the user experience will be improved.

    .

    Thanks for your understanding.
