Hello, I have a simple question for OneDrive (Personal).

I want to share an editable folder with external users (non-microsoft account). When somebody with the shared link tried to click upload/new button, it is redirected to sign-in page. However, it defeat the purpose of me sharing the link to non-microsoft users. I also tried it myself, and got the same results to sign-in.

Is this feature not available? why? Must the recipient require to be sign-in via microsoft account?

That is completely dependent on how you set up the share. When you share a folder/file you have to specify the access allowed. By default anyone with the link can access it and therefore there is no sign in needed. It means exactly what it says - anyone with the link can use it and therefore no sign in is required. At a minimum you want to probably require a password.

However this is a security risk so if it is sensitive data you really should only give access to certain people. And of course to identify themselves they need to log in.

    Hi

Where you open the link, one the computer or phone?

Based on my tests, if you share folder to anyone, the user who open it or upload files on the computer do not need to sign in account and be recognized as a guest.

I suggest you try to clear the browser cache, then share the folder to check again.
